Kevin Ali holds the position of President, Emerging Markets with responsibility for leading Merck’s overall emerging markets strategy and is a member of GHHOC. Kevin most recently held the position of Senior Vice President and General Manager, BRID Franchise, Global Human Heath Marketing in Whitehouse Station, NJ at Merck & Co., Inc. Corporate Headquarters. The BRID Franchise comprises products in the bone, respiratory, immunology and dermatology disease areas worldwide.
Kevin Ali served as Managing Director of MSD SHARP & DOHME GMBH, Munich, Germany beginning in 2005 and served as Senior Vice President MERCK & CO. INC. for the region Europe, Middle East, Africa, Canada (EMEAC). Directly prior to overseeing the German business, the US native was Managing Director of MERCK SHARP & DOHME Türkiye Ltd., responsible for more than 500 employees and the overall business strategy.
Since joining MERCK & CO. INC. in 1988 as a Senior Hospital Sales Representative in California, Kevin Ali has served in diverse marketing and business roles in North America, Europe and the Middle East. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Development Studies from University of California at Berkeley and an M.B.A from Santa Clara University where he is a member of its consulting group.
Dr. Robert Naismith adds to the list of eminent personalities attending BioAsia 2012!
Dr. Naismith currently serves as Chairman and CEO of Roosevelt Capital Partners, LLC. He also serves as Chairman of JuJaMa, Inc a company he cofounded with his daughter.
Until January 2008, Naismith served as Chairman and CEO of Life Science Analytics a company he cofounded and sold to London-based Datamonitor, Inc. His career to date has been one of serial entrepreneurship, co-founding Pharmakon Research International, Inc., a major international preclinical contract research organization which was successfully sold to DNX, Princeton. In 1986 he founded Biofor, Inc., a biopharmaceutical company, and served as its President and Chief Executive Officer which was sold to Scherer Healthcare, Atlanta, GA. From 1996 to 1998, Dr. Naismith served as Chairman and Director of the MicroCap Fund and Managing Director of Healthcare at Bluestone Capital Partners, L.P. in New York, before founding Emedsecurities in 1998 a boutique investment bank serving the small-cap life-science industry. Emedsecurities was the predecessor to Life Science Analytics. He also cofounded with his daughter NND Biomedical Sciences, Hyderabad, India where he served as Chairman and CEO until they sold the company to Datamonitor.
Dr. Naismith serves as a Director of Penn Security Bank, St. Charles Pharmaceuticals, and the Life Sciences Greenhouse of Central PA, a Trustee of the William Harvey Research Institute, (London, UK), a member of the Kania School of Management’s Advisory Board at the University of Scranton and Chairman of the International Advisory Board for BioAsia. In addition, Dr. Naismith is a founding member and Chairman of the Board of The Commonwealth Medical College a new allopathic medical school serving northeastern Pennsylvania. He has served as an Adjunct Professor in the School of Medicine at Case Western Reserve University, The Commonwealth Medical College, The Pennsylvania University and the University of Scranton. Dr. Naismith holds a Ph.D. in genetics from the Pennsylvania State University.
